You probably know of Freecycle, but Freegle may be new to you.

After some disputes between UK Freecycle groups and the parent organisation across the pond, autonomy has been claimed and Freegle is the result. All groups within this organisation operate with a basic principle – all offers and requests must be 'Freegle' (free and legal). The WGC group has over 5000 members. That’s a good community to be part of; especially if you have something you would rather give away than throw away. I have just joined as part of my commitment to living more sustainably in 2010.
