That’s a lot of cartridges

published by Abby on 25/01/2010 06:51 PM

Approximately 60 million inkjet cartridges are used in printers each year, but less than 10% are recycled.

24th January 2010
Each cartridge is made of plastic, aluminium and assorted parts, all extremely durable materials. Each cartridge can take up to 1000 years to biodegrade. Empty printer cartridges can be recycled to raise money for Oxfam’s work around the world, so don’t throw them in the bin, recycle them instead. Send them in a jiffy bag, FREEPOST, to: Oxfam Recycle Scheme, Freepost LON16281, London, WC1N 3BR. See their website for more information.
